The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Toronto Centre, gratefully acknowledges that it meets, operates in, and facilitates gatherings over a wide geographic range of the traditional territories of many Indigenous nations, including the Haudenosaunee (Ho-da-no-shonay) Confederacy, the Huron-Wendat, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Anishinaabe (aah-ni-shin-abey) peoples. These lands are part of the Dish with One Spoon Treaty and are now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, Metis and Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island.

We recognize the significance of these lands to Indigenous peoples past and present, and as we engage in astronomy here, we respect, learn from, and honour the deep relationship between Indigenous peoples, the sky and Earth.
