The Toronto Centre has a Telescope and Equipment Loan Program for its members. It's a great way to try equipment you may be considering for purchase, or to extend your observing/imaging to new systems and targets.
- You must be a member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada - Toronto Centre.
- You should be prepared to present your membership card and show government issued photo identification when picking up the instrument.
- Equipment may be picked up from a location arranged with a Telescope Loan Program Coordinator.
- Equipment must be returned within four weeks of receiving it (two weeks for popular models) unless other arrangements are made.
You can borrow the following equipment:
- Stellarvue 80mm refractor telescope (on an alt-azimuth mount)
- Sky-Watcher 200mm Dobsonian reflector
- Meade LX10 200mm Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, for mounted on wedge with DC drive
- Coronado PST Solar Telescope
- A USB SKYnyx monochrome CCD camera
- A complete Star Adventurer wide-angle DSLR imaging system
You can request a loaner through this form (members, log in first).
