During these family-friendly sessions, a DDO Astronomer will answer your questions about the observatory, astronomy and space, telescopes, and the motions of the sky using powerful astronomy software and eye-catching visuals! Only one registration per household is required. Deadline to register for this program is Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 3:00pm. Prior to the start of the program you will be emailed information on the virtual program links and any specific information relating to your program.

City Star Party (GO for Tuesday)

Hover above the Moon like an astronaut and get eye-to-eye with the planets. Find colourful stars, star clusters, bright nebulae and even another galaxy. Our monthly City Star Party is the place to catch universe from within the city limits at Bayview Village Park. If you don't have a telescope then you will find many astronomers who would love to share a view. If you are thinking of buying a telescope, viewing with other people's equipment is the best way to make a good choice. If you have a telescope or binoculars, please bring it!

York University Allan I. Carswell Observatory: Herschel and the Haunted Telescope - Observatory Tour and Viewing

The lecture is followed by a fun event number two, a Halloween-themed tour of the Allan I. Carswell observatory 'Haunted Telescope' and viewing session of Uranus, discovered by Sir William Herschel in 1781.

Ajax Pumpkinville

The Toronto Centre is participating once again at the hugely popular (and entertaining!) Pumpkinville festival run by the Town of Ajax at beautiful Greenwood Conservation Area. In addition to our information tent, we will set-up solar telescopes. The Sun is quite active now, so we're sure to have sunspots to examine up close!!
