Explore the universe with members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. Telescopes will be set up to provide stellar views of the Moon, the planets and more. Astronomy Nights fill up fast, be sure to register to save your place for space! If weather conditions are not ideal for star gazing, we will cancel the event at 12:00pm that day, and postpone the event to the next day (Wednesday, October 5). The little constellation of Delphinus, the Dolphin, swims the autumn evening sky. It is easy to identify with unaided eyes, can be explored in binoculars, and has many interesting stars and deep sky targets for telescopes of any size.

The Toronto Centre is participating once again at the hugely popular (and entertaining!) Pumpkinville festival run by the Town of Ajax at beautiful Greenwood Conservation Area. In addition to our information tent, we will set-up solar telescopes. The Sun is quite active now, so we're sure to have sunspots to examine up close!! Take a guided tour of the invisible universe on Dark Matter Night. In a hybrid event (in-person and live webcast) on October 26, dark matter researchers Katie Mack and Ken Clark will share insights into the ubiquitous, mysterious matter that makes up the majority of stuff in our universe.

Arriving from the Spooky Outer Solar System to York University this Halloween... This coming Monday October 31st there are two, that's right TWO amazing astronomy halloween events occurring! The Allan I. Carswell Observatory Presents: Herschel and the Haunted Telescope. Whether you are a fan of music, physics, astronomy, history or even just Halloween we have somethign for everyone! 7:00-8:00pm: Lecture and Concert Event 

The lecture is followed by a fun event number two, a Halloween-themed tour of the Allan I. Carswell observatory 'Haunted Telescope' and viewing session of Uranus, discovered by Sir William Herschel in 1781.
