DDO: Telescope Clinic (at Oak Ridges Community Centre) (CANCELLED)

Just got a new ‘scope?' Already had one for years that’s been collecting dust? The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada is hosting a telescope clinic to help you get started. Bring your telescope out and let our experienced members show you how to use it! Maximum two family members per registration. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult. COVID protocols will be in place.

DDO: Up in the Sky (ONLINE)

Join us, from the comfort of your home! This program provides an illustrated one-hour presentation and discussion about what exciting celestial events to look for each season. The events and phenomena will be explained using simple language, with recommendations about how best to observe and photograph them. All participating family members must be registered. Deadline to register for this program is Friday January 22, 2021 at 3:00pm. Prior to the start of the program you will be emailed information on the virtual program links and any specific information relating to your program.

Join us, from the comfort of your home! Let us help you explore and understand the night sky! A DDO Astronomer will provide accurate and detailed answers to your astronomy and space-related questions in simple language using pictures, illustrations and sophisticated computer simulations during these live video meetings. RASC National Society: The Insider's Guide to the Galaxy - Step Outside and Travel Through Time (ONLINE)

Join us online to learn basic astronomy that you can do on your own from your backyard! We'll be hosting introductory astronomy courses every other Tuesday at 3:30pm EDT. They'll give you the tools to learn astronomy on your own at home, along with some observing goals to try. All you need is your computer! A pair of binoculars will help, but are not necessary.
