Earth is catching up and will pass closest to Mars in January 2025 when the distance between the two planets is at its smallest, making Mars appear much larger when viewed through telescopes here on Earth.

Jupiter will make its closest approach to Earth in 59 years - an astronomical arrangement known as opposition. Astronomers will have views through telescopes (weather dependent).
