UofT AstroTour: Tidal Disruption Events: When a Black Hole Destroys a Star

Join us for AstroTours! The event will feature a talk by Hannah Dykaar about when black holes destroy stars! After the talk we will have a variety of demos and the opportunity to use telescopes on the roof of the McLennan Physical Laboratories.

Observe the Moon, stars and Saturn at its best through our telescopes! Check out astronomy literature at our information booth, and ask us questions to learn more about the stars and planets. You can bring your own telescope and we'd be happy to help you set it up and aim it at the Moon.

Join the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada for this four-night course, where you will be introduced to observing the night sky. After the course, you will be able to identify the brighter stars and constellations and have a basic understanding of the motion of the night sky. You'll have a chance to use binoculars and telescopes to observe the Moon, the Sun, planets, and whatever else you might find the the deep skies.
