RASC, Mississauga Centre: Astronomy Night at the Riverwood Conservancy

Explore the universe with members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. Telescopes will be set up to provide stellar views of the Moon, the planets and more. Astronomy Nights fill up fast, be sure to register to save your place for space! Important Information Road access to Chappell Lawn will be closed. Please park in the main parking lot and walk over. You will be asked your name at the barrier in order to enter the event.

City Star Party (NO GO)

Hover above the Moon like an astronaut and get eye-to-eye with the planets. Find colourful stars, star clusters, bright nebulae and even another galaxy. Our monthly City Star Party is the place to catch universe from within the city limits at Bayview Village Park. If you don't have a telescope then you will find many astronomers who would love to share a view. If you are thinking of buying a telescope, viewing with other people's equipment is the best way to make a good choice. If you have a telescope or binoculars, please bring it!

UofT AstroTour: Twists and Turns while Searching for Strange Stars

Join us for our first in person AstroTours in two years! The event will feature a talk by Anna O'Grady about searching for strange stars! After the talk we will have a variety of demos and the opportunity to use telescopes on the roof of the McLennan Physical Laboratories. Our event will also highlight LGBTQ2S+ astronomers to honour pride month! Also, make sure to check out our merchandise shop on RedBubble! It features our regular, Earth Hour, and pride logos!

ASX Star Talk: Black Holes in 2020

It's time for our first event of 2020! Black holes are everywhere in popular science and science fiction, but what do we really know about these ultra-dense objects? If you would like to know more, join ASX for our Star Talk on Wednesday, January 29, in Lash Miller Chemical Laboratories (LM), Room 161. Professor Chris Matzner will be illuminating the darkness surrounding black holes, by elaborating on the state of our understanding in 2020! The free, public lecture itself is from 7:00pm-8:00pm followed, weather permitting, by a free, public telescope viewing atop MP.
