CAO Spring 2026 Work Party
Calling Volunteers!
The Spring 2026 work party at the E.C. Carr Astronomical Observatory on Blue Mountain will be held on the weekend of May 01-03.
Work parties at the CAO take place on Saturday, with the house being open from Friday evening until Sunday noon, depending on when volunteer key holders will be on site to open up. We have made provision for jobs to be tackled both indoors and out of the house so that we will not be left wanting of work if the weather turns inclement. There are the usual spring site opening tasks and several improvement projects to be tackled.
CAO work parties also offer some great R&R for members in the form of getting away from the city and spending time with old friends and also making new ones! Normally, if it's clear in the evening there'd be great observing. If not, the big screen theatre will entertain us.
All meals and drink will be provided for volunteers starting Saturday morning through Sunday breakfast. You'll need your personal effects suitable for the weather, towels, and bedding or a sleeping bag with a pillow.
