City Star Party: Long Branch Park - Peak Summer Stars
July 19, 2025 or July 20, 2025 (first clear night)
NOTE Recommended arrival/setup is between 8:30 and 9:00 PM.
This month's theme is "Peak Summer Stars". If the southern horizon is clear we will be able to look toward the centre of our galaxy and the constellations Scorpius and Sagittarius rich with galaxies and nebulas.
Star Wheel/Planispheres will be available to aid observing and to take home.
Join us at the lakefront park for a friendly evening of star gazing.
Do note:

The temperature can be cooler at the lakeshore, especially if there's a breeze off the water. So bring warmer clothes including something windproof.
Check our homepage for GO/NO-GO calls as these events are weather dependent.
Please note that we make our GO/NO-GO calls a few hours before an event but, if the weather worsens, we may have to cancel or wrap up earlier than planned. We'll try to post updates but please use your best judgment if you're planning to join us.

Location: Long Branch Park is accessible via 427/Browns Line, QEW, Gardiner expressway and local roads including Lakeshore Blvd, Kipling Ave and Islington Ave.
Parking: Curbside parking is available along Lake Promenade and surrounding streets. Distance from the street (Lake Promenade) to the shoreline is approximately 100m.
