DDO Gigantic Jupiter: The Gas Giant at Opposition

Important Notice: The Observatory Dome/74” telescope is currently undergoing restoration and will not be available for this program. Viewing of Jupiter and other celestial objects will be provided using alternate telescopes set up outside, as weather permits.

Jupiter is more than twice as massive than the other planets of our solar system combined. Join us at the Richmond Hill David Dunlap Observatory as Jupiter, the Earth, and the Sun all align in their celestial dance - an astronomical arrangement known as opposition.

Astronomers will have views through telescopes (weather dependent), interesting facts and stories about Jupiter, special guests, and fun activities.
