Earth is catching up and will pass closest to Mars in January 2025 when the distance between the two planets is at its smallest, making Mars appear much larger when viewed through telescopes here on Earth.

Experience a presentation led by astronomy experts and researchers and tour the observatory. The 74” telescope is under restoration and will not be available for this program.

Jupiter will make its closest approach to Earth in 59 years - an astronomical arrangement known as opposition. Astronomers will have views through telescopes (weather dependent).

Families will be introduced to the wonders of astronomy through a presentation on a variety of exciting astronomy topics, followed by age-appropriate celestial activities while interacting with RHDDO Astronomers!
