Notice of Annual Meeting

This message is the Notice of Annual Meeting of The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Toronto Centre, which is to be held on Wednesday, 4 December 2024.

The Annual Meeting will immediately follow the Recreational Astronomy Night presentations. As per usual, the RAN will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel for all members and the public to view. After the live-stream concludes, the Annual Meeting will commence.

The Annual Meeting will be conducted online with Zoom for interactions and voting (see below for details).

RASC Toronto Centre is a not-for-profit Ontario corporation and a registered charity. The Annual Meeting is the opportunity for you to learn about what has been achieved by the Toronto Centre in fiscal year 2023-2024 and its finances.

The Agenda for the meeting is as follows:

Zoom Meeting Details

On December 4, 2024 at approximately 8:30pm Eastern Time, a virtual meeting using Zoom will be used to conduct the RASC TC Annual Meeting with electronic voting by members through polls in Zoom. To participate in the polls, you will need the free Zoom software installed on a computer or device. Visit the Zoom web site to download the app.

Pre-registration in Zoom is required for the Annual Meeting. This will inform us if we will achieve a quorum and the expected maximum number of attendees. Registration closes at 12:01am Monday 2 December 2024.

You will be prompted for your name and email address.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Proposed Bylaws

The creation of the Ontario's Not-for-Profit Corporations Act has required by law that our bylaws be altered to reflect the new legislation. To this end we have drafted a new set of bylaws and present them for your approval.
