Notice of Annual Meeting

This message is the Notice of Annual Meeting of The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Toronto Centre, which is to be held on Wednesday, 25 November 2020.

The Annual Meeting will immediately follow the Speakers Night presentation. As per usual, the speaker event will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel for all members and the public to view. After the live-stream concludes, the Annual Meeting will commence.

Given COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the Annual Meeting will be conducted online with Zoom for interactions and voting (see below for details).

RASC Toronto Centre is a not-for-profit Ontario corporation and a registered charity. The annual meeting is the opportunity for you to learn about what has been achieved by the Toronto Centre in fiscal year 2019-2020 and its finances.

The Agenda for the meeting is as follows:

Zoom Meeting Details

On Nov 25, 2020 at 8:30 PM Eastern Time, a virtual meeting using Zoom will be used to conduct the RASC TC Annual Meeting with electronic voting by members through polls in Zoom. To participate in the polls, you will need the free Zoom software installed on a computer or device. Visit the Zoom web site to download the app.

Pre-registration in Zoom is required for the Annual Meeting. This will inform us if we will achieve a quorum and the expected maximum number of attendees. Registration closes at 12:01 AM Monday 23 November 2020.

You will be prompted for your name, email address, and RASC membership ID number.

Log into the national web site and click on your name if you do not recall your number.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

In preparation for the Annual Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, 25 November, the Council is pleased to propose the following slate of candidates for the RASC Toronto Centre Council for the year 2020-2021.
