Hamilton Youth Poets: August Eclipse Slam!
Attention all Indigo children! On August 21st our earth will be experiencing a total solar eclipse. For those of you who don’t know what that is, a solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the sun and the earth, inevitably blocking the sun from the earth's view and completely encasing parts of our world in its dark shadows.
There is no better way to celebrate this celestial event than with us at HYP’s August Eclipse Slam. Poets, it’s your time to fully shine while the sun is otherwise occupied. And as for everyone else please don’t hide in the shadows, come out and watch our poets shower you with magical performances!
Don’t be afraid to take the stage on August 20! Joining us will be this month's featured poet Larissa Tarasoff, a shooting star in the mystical universe of poetry. Larissa is a Saskatchewan born poet who earned her place on the Saskatoon slam poetry team in early 2015. That year she also successfully took home the first place trophy at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word and has since participated in Verse Fest 2016. Don’t miss out on seeing this cosmic collision of a poet in action.
