OSC: A Weekend of Astronomical Adventures
Become a space traveller and embark on a unique experiential journey of the cosmos from the comfort of your own seat! This weekend only, in place of the IMAX film schedule, the Ontario Science Centre is offering two out-of-this-world digital celestial experiences that put you at the helm of a space adventure.
Using state-of-the-art 8K resolution digital technology with razor-sharp image quality, these family-friendly experiences promise to be fun, enlightening and unforgettable.
Each experience is approximately 45 minutes.
Space Discovery Adventure
Since the end of the twentieth century, dozens of uncrewed probes have been deployed to beam information about our solar system back to Earth. What these probes discovered was amazing and – in some cases – unexpected. Robot Explorers pays tribute to the robots that have explored and taught us about the far reaches of our solar system.
Delve deeper into current space missions with Astronomical Tales. Special guest astronomer Justin Bartel from the Science Museum of Virginia highlights the latest discoveries through an immersive, engaging and interactive live presentation.
Intergalactic Adventure
Hop on board for two space adventures in one!
Take a rollercoaster ride from the Moon through our solar system, our galaxy and the universe. An unforgettable high-speed journey, Cosmic Adventure immerses you in some of the most amazing sites in the universe.
Continue the adventure with Edge of Darkness. From the bright “lights” on Ceres to the great cliffs on comet 67P, discover amazing, never-before-seen views gathered by key space missions that culminated with ground-breaking discoveries in 2015.
