DDO 80th Anniversary

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE DOME!

We're celebrating 80 years of stargazing with an open house on Sunday, June 14 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Home to the largest optical telescope in Canada, the David Dunlap Observatory represents a unique place in Canadian scientific history.

Since 2009, the DDO has been operated by the Toronto Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada as an education and public outreach facility.

The University of Toronto has in recent years returned historic books, furniture and many artifacts to the RASC’s care, making a visit to the Observatory an even more extraordinary experience.

The 80th anniversary event will be highlighted by a joint U of T/RASC - Toronto Centre exhibition of a number of treasured astronomical instruments and artifacts from the university’s archives.

Who can attend: Everyone including non-members
Fee: Free although donations are always welcome
Reservations: Drop-in event. No advance tickets required.
