Manuel Guerrero, a planetary Imager and a member of the RASC, Mississauga Centre, felt a degree of frustration when imaging planets at northern latitudes due to their low elevation in the sky and the increased effect of the earth's atmosphere. He decided to do something about it. With the help of Mr Jean Claude Bessudo, President of Aviatur, he was able to establish an observatory at the Hotel Las Islas in Baru, Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, which has a higher planetary ecliptic plane. He described his challenge at the Recreational Astronomy Night meeting, which was held on July 17, 2019 at the Ontario Science Centre.
