Speaker and Social Nights Coming to the RHDDO

Submitted by denisjgrey@gmail.com on 28 January 2026

Starting April 15th, the Toronto Centre will be hosting a simulcast of our Speaker's Night at the historic David Dunlap Observatory in Richmond Hill followed by a social gathering at Archibald's Pub on Yonge Street.

Since the pandemic, the Toronto Centre has hosted our meetings online via our Youtube channel and we've had interest from around the world in our high-quality lineup of professional astronomers (and some excellent professional adjacent types as well). While all members are welcome to enjoy these sessions from the comfort of your home, why not join us at the Observatory to take in the presentation and then join us at Archibald's Pub for some conversation and fellowship afterwards?

Event information:

  • This event is open to all RASC Toronto Centre members in good standing and their guests.
  • Doors open at 7:00 p.m., presentation will be at 7:30 p.m. (as usual) and will conclude by 9:00 p.m.
  • No tour of the observatory is included in this program, however, members are welcome to setup their telescopes on the lawn after the meeting if weather permits.
  • This program is being offered on a trial basis for April, May and June so we are looking for good participation to continue the program into the fall season.
