Join us in Toronto for a night of true, personal stories about science and expectations! You’ll hear four stories about assumptions about people to experiments and everything in between. We expect you’ll enjoy it … well, fingers crossed!

Louise Lemieux White is the co-founder of Families for Addiction Recovery, a grass roots Canadian charity dedicated to long term recovery for those with addiction and their families. She is passionate about advocating for the challenges of youth who struggle with mental health and addiction. Louise is also a fluently bilingual Registered Nurse, Lactation Consultant and adult educator, with over 25 years health care experience working with children, adults and families in teaching hospitals and in her own private practice. Her non-profit involvement includes being a President for many parent associations within the city of Toronto including at a leading private school in Toronto; and other roles on boards and in charitable organizations. Louise is the proud mother of four young adults.
Ryan Marciniak is an astronomer, educator, and science communicator. With over 12 years of experience presenting live shows, developing exhibits and programs, and writing educational content, Ryan uses the latest visualization software and technology to show how fascinating, vast, and beautiful the universe is. As founder and director of Astronomy in Action, he uses portable planetarium domes to bring space experiences to everyone. Ryan has also appeared as an expert astronomer on CBC, CTV, History Channel, 680 News, and many more.
David Yun is a Toronto-based science communicator and STEM educator. David has taught students of all ages, from kindergarteners to adults, with the goal of making learning fun. He currently works with the Nuclear Innovation Institute where he designs and delivers STEM programs for kids in rural communities. In his spare time, David performs stand-up comedy around the city, hosts an online trivia night, and hangs out with his fluffy, black cat.
Faduma Mohamed is a spoken word poet, storyteller and artist educator. In 2016, she produced her one-woman-play OUGHTISM in d’bi young’s Watah Theatre. In 2019, she wrote and performed the sequel Golden Mind as part of University of Toronto’s ‘Feminist Launch Series’. From 2015 – 2016, she carried a box from her play, every single day to challenge the stigma around autism. The autism awareness and fundraising initiative called “#OughtTheBox” has benefited families in Toronto, Edmonton and London, England. She was awarded the Yinnergy Good Samaritan Award for her work around autism awareness and autism fundraising and most recently voted ByBlacks People’s Choice Award for Poet | Spoken Word Artist. Above all, she believes in the power of dreams.
