A Half-Century of Astronomy Outreach: Stories, Reflections, and Lessons Learned
Dr. John Percy, University of Toronto Professor Emeritus, Astronomy and Astrophysics
I will review and update my half-century of experience in astronomy outreach in Canada and beyond, the organizations in which I have served, and the factors that have contributed to success -- notably partnership.
The RASC figures prominently in my experience; I have been a member since 1961. One of my goals in this presentation is to encourage the RASC to continue and expand their Michael-Smith-Award-winning outreach work, which I enthusiastically support.
Talk starts at 7.30, socializing starts at 7.00.
Who can attend: everyone including non-members
Fee: free, free parking after 6pm

After the conclusion of Dr. Percy's lecture, there will be a short recess followed by the RASC Toronto Centre's annual business meeting.
