Royal Ontario Museum: ROM After Dark: Lunar (SOLD OUT)
Expect the Unexpected
Experience our brand new event series for the very first time at ROM After Dark: Lunar and explore the celestial world like never before.
Leave planet Earth behind for the night and immerse yourself in a celestial-inspired world of music, live performances, and curated programs, food & drinks at ROM After Dark: Lunar.
Your first stop: The ROM After Dark Concierge desk to plan your evening’s trip to the moon and beyond.
Next, head to the ROM’s StarLab pop-up planetarium for a quick flight to the moon where you’ll experience moon phases, eclipses and more. Flights are scheduled frequently, but space is limited (no pun intended).
After your trip to the cosmos, take a spacewalk throughout the Museum’s galleries and discover a series of interstellar endeavors.
Celebrate Lunar New Year’s Eve with live lion dances and Chinese fortune tellers from the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto.
Join ANDPVA Indigenous storytellers, musicians and artists as they lead you through the teachings & traditions of Grandmother Moon, who keeps watch over her children, gently leading them through the night.
Chat with the ROM’s roaming galactic experts and find out how the Museum contributes to current space research. Afterwards, walk on the moon, touch a real meteorite, see some of the oldest rocks in the universe, and get up close with the moon’s surface in video footage from the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency.
Meet the Canadian Space Agency team and hear about the exciting Lunar Gateway featuring Canadarm3 or brace the cold to see the winter night sky through telescopes outside the ROM building.
Once you’ve had your fill of space talk head to the lunar music salons for electric techno house music and new music works.
Keep your thirst and hunger at bay with our ROM After Dark themed pop-up restaurants located throughout the Museum’s galleries.
Taste the culinary creations of CORBIN Catering and meet Chef Corbin, a natural food storyteller who has built a loyal following on HGTV and Food Network Canada with shows like Dinner Party Wars and Restaurant Makeover.
Sip Asahi Super Dry, try a unique ROM After Dark cocktail, including “zero-proof” options, or stick to the classics with local wine and craft cider selections.
