Public Star Night at Millennium Square, Pickering (NO GO)

Join us and Durham Skies this September for free stargazing down by the edge of Lake Ontario. Before sunset, come and have a safe look at our nearest star through special solar-filtered telescopes, and then as the sky gets darker, get close-up looks at craters on the Moon and the captivating rings of Saturn.

Learn the names of popular stars and constellations. Take a virtual trip into deep space by trying to spot faint star clusters and nebulae. If you have a telescope, bring it along and we can show you how to use it better.

Everything gets underway at 6:00 pm but check our home page before heading out for a Go/No-Go call in case it's too cloudy to observe. And make sure to dress warmly because it gets cool down by the lake after sunset.

Who can attend: Everyone
Fee: Free
Registration: Not required
Location: Millennium Square, at the foot of Liverpool Road
