Northern District Library: Orchardviewers: What Happens When all the Dark Places are Gone?
Spend the afternoon with Dr. Jennifer West, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics in the University of Toronto. Dr. West will speak about the importance of preserving dark skies and dark sky preserves. Dr. West is a 2011 recipient of the International Dark Sky Association's Dark Sky Defender Award. She is also a 2010 recipient of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada's Ken Chilton Prize for her contributions to astronomy education and outreach.
