Friday, November 9, 2018 -
7:30pm to 9:30pm

An entertaining and educational ramble through the sky and the past, we will touch on a loose constellation of objects and ideas, from far flung galaxies to the newest earthbound telescopes that study them. In the end, we will tie them all together with a thread that connects them to each other and to the HAA.

This talk is suitable for all ages and all levels of expertise, including beginners.

Our speaker this evening will be John Gauvreau
John Gauvreau is a long time member of the HAA and has volunteered in a variety of ways through the years, although he is most proud of the public outreach that he and the club has done. John taught astronomy at Mohawk College for 20 years and most recently at Conestoga College.  He has spoken at a wide variety of venues, including schools, libraries, conservation areas, churches, the McMaster University planetarium and the Ontario Science Centre.
