David Levy: A Night Watchman's Journey

DAVID LEVY

A Night watchman's Journey:  My Adventures as a comet discoverer and sky watcher

With more than twenty-two comets discovered, Canadian astronomer David Levy is one of the most successful comet hunters in history. Thanks in part to one of his finds, Shoemaker-Levy 9, we now know more about the role that comet collisions have played in the origin and evolution of life on this world. Mr. Levy will share highlights from his research and how his childhood fascination with the night sky led to a highly satisfying career.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Join us for astronomy demonstrations, a comet photography display and light refreshments before the lecture.

RASC members and non-members are welcome to attend.

This event is held at the Ontario Science Centre, it is free and there is parking available after 6:00.
