Members Nights at the DDO

David Dunlap Observatory main dome at night, outside (Bill Longo)
Saturday, January 25, 2014 - 6:00pm to 10:00pm

Tonight's theme is Our Galactic Neighbours.

One of the benefits of membership in the RASC Toronto Centre is access to specially arranged Members Nights at the David Dunlap Observatory in Richmond Hill. These were launched in January 2012 as a once monthly Saturday evening whether skies were clear or cloudy. Each event has a pre-announced theme. We gather for pizza, participate in a seminar on the theme for the evening, and do some observing and imaging if skies permit.

  • 5:30 PM Gates open
  • 6:00 PM Pizza cutoff ($6 buys you pizza and pop)
  • 6:45 PM Pizza arrives or join us with your own food
  • 7:30 PM Seminar begins (about 45 minutes)
  • 8:30 PM Observing/imaging begins (or "open mic" if cloudy)
  • 10:00 PM We're Done

Who can attend: members only, but we are happy to sign up new members before 7:30
Fee: free
Reservation not needed
Location: David Dunlap Observatory (DDO)
