Cenozoic to Mesozoic Galaxies

Member Ian Wheelband on June 21, "I did some imaging from our Carr Astronomical Observatory (CAO) near Collingwood earlier this week, using my telescope.

 

Here is NGC5566 with some of its neighbours. Being about 65 million ly away, this light left when the dinosaurs were becoming extinct here.  The other two brighter neighbours are background at just over 80 million ly."
