Video: Predicting Exoplanetary Atmospheres using Machine Learning: ARIEL Telescope Simulation

Submitted by rasc@johnginder.com on 28 January 2020

Artash Nath, a grade 8 student and member of the RASC, Toronto Centre, takes simulation data from the future ARIEL Space Telescope to show how he uses Machine Learning Software to filter out the noise from the Telescope's Exoplanet Observations. With his technique, he was one of the winners of the ARIEL Machine Learning Challenge and was invited to  provide a training workshop at the MIT Studio Lab. He also encouraged members to participate in the ExoClock Project - A large scale transit curve survey that will help the ARIEL Space Telescope Mission in choosing targets. He gave his talk to the Recreational Astronomy Night meeting on January 29, 2020 at the Ontario Science Centre.
