UofT: Solar Eclipse at the CNE
Join us on August 21 at the Canadian National Exhibition to view a partial solar eclipse. Get a free pair of eclipse glasses to let you view the eclipse safely and see the Sun through our solar telescopes. Meet University of Toronto astronomers to learn about the eclipse and to get all your burning astronomy questions answered. See live streams of the eclipse from regions of totality and compete for prizes!
We will be at the CNE from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The eclipse itself will begin at 1:10pm, will reach maximum coverage of the Sun at 2:32pm, and will end at 3:49pm.
This is a free event and no registration or ticket is required. However, attendees will need to pay admission to the CNE to access the event. On the day of this event, admission to the CNE is only $2 for children.
Please note that we are not selling eclipse glasses for this eclipse. They will be distributed for free at our event, but are also are available from many retailers online. We do not endorse any particular retailer. We recommend that, before purchasing glasses or other safe viewing equipment, you consult this page on eclipse safety.
