TIFF: 2001: A Space Odyssey introduced by Alfonso Cuarón

The visionary Oscar-winning writer and director of Gravity introduces Stanley Kubrick's science-fiction masterpiece.

Alfonso Cuarón was born in Mexico City. He studied philosophy at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and film at the Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos. In addition to directing, he has served as an editor, producer and screenwriter for feature films, notably co-producing Guillermo Del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth (06). His features include Y Tu Mamá También (01), Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban (04), Children of Men (06), and Gravity (13).
