RASC/CSA: Artemis - Canada is going to the Moon (ONLINE)

The Canadian Space Agency is joining NASA for a return to the Moon with the Artemis mission. Unfolding over the next several years, Artemis will eventually land a human on the Moon for the first time since the early 1970's and establish a presence and base there.

Join the RASC Toronto Centre for a one-hour online event to learn more about Artemis and Canada's participation. We welcome Dr. Bhairavi Shankar, an expert in lunar science, to tell us more about the Moon. Our resident public education astronomer, Chris Vaughan, will show you how to observe and follow the Moon from your own backyard, balcony or window.

Finally, we will visit the Moon ourselves, courtesy of live views through three telescopes in three different locations (weather permitting!). See the lunar craters and mountains that inspired early telescopic explorers, the locations of the Apollo landing sites as well as the spot chosen for Artemis to touch down.

Who can attend: Everyone
Fee: Free
Registration: Not required
