Lagoon and Trifid Nebulae in the Milky Way

Imaged from Grafton, Ontario, on June 21 and June 23 2015 by Lynn Hilborn.

These two nebulosities and star forming regions are visible from dark skies with binoculars or a small telescope in a rich part of the sky, in Sagittarius fairly low towards the southern horizon.  They won't look as spectacular as this image.
