DDO Family Event - Mars Opposition (WAITLIST)

The Mars Opposition is our best opportunity to observe the Red Planet for the next several years. Mars is opposite the Sun in the sky at 800-day intervals, and the best of these "oppositions" coincide with our summertime. The last chance to see Mars so favorably was in August 2003, the week after the Great Blackout. During Mars Opposition week, Mars will rise at sunset and will be the brightest, reddest object in the southeastern sky all evening. Join us at the David Dunlap Observatory to stage the next Martian Invasion of Richmond Hill.

Note: All registered participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. The fee is based on the cost per person and each member of the family must register individually.
